Structure
The John Paul II Pontificate's Center for Documentation and Research operates within the John Paul II Foundation and carries out its goals through documentation and research of the pontificate. The Foundation and the Center are governed by Kraków’s Metropolitan Archbishop, who appoints the members of the Governing Body and its Chairman. Currently, the Foundation is being governed by Most Rev. Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz, with Most Rev. Cardinal Stanislaw Rylko as Governing Body Chairman.
The activities of the Center are supported by the Research Council, including famous science representatives from Kraków: Rev. Fr. Prof. Jan Maciej Dyduch, (Rector of PAT – the Pontifical Academy of Theology), Rev. Fr. Prof. Tadeusz Dzidek, (Vicerector of PAT), Prof. Franciszek Ziejka (Jagiellonian University); Rev. Fr. Prof. Jarosław Kupczak OP (PAT); from universities in Rome: Rev. Fr. Prof. Edward Kaczynski OP (Angelicum), Rev. Fr. Prof. Marek Inglot SJ (Gregoriana), Rev. Fr. Prof. Zdzisław Kijas OFMConv (Seraphicum); and from Vatican Institutions: Rev. Fr. Prof. Wojciech Giertych OP (theologian of the Papal Home), Rev. Fr. Prof. Andrzej Koprowski (Vatican Radio), Rev. Fr. Prof. Czesław Drazek SJ (L’Osservatore Romano).
The Section for Documentation is led by Fr. Jan Glowczyk, and the Section for Research by Fr. Andrzej Dobrzynski. Activities of the Center are aided by sisters from the Gathering of Servants of the Sacred Heart: sr. Antoniana Chrzastek, sr. Remigia Sawicka and sr. Katarzyna Stepien.
